The newer generation of CR-V is more limited on boot space than previous versions – being reduced to 497 litres to accommodate the hybrid engine. But if you ever need more boot space, by folding the rear seats down you can expand capacity to more than 1,600 litres.

The infotainment system uses Honda’s CONNECT system, and comes bundled with Garmin navigation. But it’s also easy to connect with both Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

In terms of fuel economy, the CR-V ranged between 35 mpg and 43 mpg in Honda’s official tests, with the average leveling out at 39.2 mpg.

Safety is obviously paramount for a family SUV, and the Honda CR-V doesn’t disappoint, with a 5-star Euro NCAP rating and features like a collision mitigation braking system and lane-departure warning.
