Toyota Aygo
Sell us your Toyota, hassle free
The Toyota Aygo is an ideal choice for anyone looking for a small, stylish, and economical city car that’s easy to drive and painless to park.
With its compact and lightweight design, the Aygo is popular with city commuters and first-time drivers. It may not be the most spacious inside, but its budget-friendly price point and reliable performance make it a solid option in the city car category.
The Aygo was initially introduced in 2005 as a joint project with Citroen and Peugeot, with the Toyota Aygo, Citroen C1 and Peugeot 107/108 all sharing similar floorplans, transmissions and engines.
The initial launch of the Aygo was a huge success, with Top Gear announcing it “Car of the Year” back in 2005. The Aygo introduced its second generation in 2014, which came with new styling, improved engine performance and a range of customisation options to suit the younger demographic.
The three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine in the second generation Aygo provides everything you need for city driving, and delivers an impressive fuel economy of 68.9 mpg. It also has incredibly responsive steering which makes it ideal for narrow city streets. However, if you’re planning on making regular motorway trips, it’s worth bearing in mind that this isn’t an area where the Aygo excels.
From a safety perspective, the Aygo comes with LED daytime running lights as standard and a suite of optional extras such as autonomous emergency braking and lane assist technology. With the additional safety features added, the Aygo claims a Euro NCAP rating of four stars. If technology is your thing, the Aygo is equipped with a 7.0-inch colour ‘X-Touch’ infotainment screen, with higher specification trims featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility
Now for a bit of a good news/bad news situation.
The bad news? For anyone looking for a brand new Aygo, you’re out of luck – as the model stopped being produced by Toyota in 2021.
The good news? There are plenty of high quality second-generation Toyota Aygos available across the country at car dealerships and online car marketplaces. And even better, the Aygo was replaced by the Aygo X – a compact crossover that offers more interior space and a higher driving position than the original Aygo, and improved stability on the open road

1. Tell us about your car.
We need a few details about your car to give you a fair offer. Stuff like whether there are any dents or scratches, and what condition it’s in.
Don’t worry, it’s all clearly described. And if you’re not sure, you’ll always find us at the end of a phone for a helping hand!
